Lorac Pro Palette: Swatches, Photos & Review

Lorac recently came out with their Pro Palette which has gotten a ton of hype recently. This came out around the same time as the Unzipped palette. I first heard a lot about the Unzipped which I still don't have but once I heard about this palette I knew I had to add it to my wishlist. This palette comes with 16 eyeshadows, 8 of which are matte and 8 are shimmer. The 8 matte shades are: white, cream, taupe, light pink, mauve, sable, espresso, and black. This is a great mix of mattes that you could use as a highlight, all over the lid, crease color, inner corner, etc. For the 8 shimmer shades they are: nude, champagne, gold, light bronze, pewter, garnet, deep purple, and slate. These are amazing shimmery metallic colors that will work great with the mattes and none of the shimmer contain glitter. The problem with a lot of eyeshadow palettes is that they are all metallic or shimmery shades and no mattes or not enough mattes. This is a perfect mix of both as I personally don't like wearing all shimmer on my eyes.

The packaging of this product is amazing. It has a huge mirror on the inside which is great for travel and also is super slim and lightweight. It is even more slim than the naked palette (much more actually) and very lightweight. The palette does get very dirty though similar to Nars packaging. I don't love that it gets dirty but I can look past that since I love the shadows so much.

5.5 grams of eyeshadow primer

You get .02 oz or .55 grams per shadows. It doesn't seem like you are getting a lot of shadow but you are actually getting more than you think. Not including the primer you are paying about $2.62 USD per shadow for .55 grams or .02 oz. It's actually less since you do get the primer. In comparison, a mac eyeshadow in pan form would cost you $12 for 1.5 grams or .05 oz. So if you think about it the Lorac is a better deal. I would prefer less shadow anyways since it takes forever to go through an eyeshadow.

You can see since they are so buttery that the palette does start to get a little messy inside
The pigmentation of these colors is super soft and buttery. Some of the colors are more powdery than others and I would say mostly the mattes but usually mattes can be more powdery anyways. One swipe of your finger and you get a ton of color. Even though they can be a bit powdery they don't really have any fallout which is a huge plus. I always use a primer when I wear shadow so I don't ever have a problem with creasing or my shadow not lasting. These shadows can be worn wet or dry. All swatches shown in this post were down dry.

For $42 USD, you get 16 amazing eyeshadows and a deluxe sample eyeshadow primer. This is well worth the price. I actually got lucky and ordered this from beautybar.com. They sent me a survey where I got $10 for taking the survey and they are doing a new points system where I had a $5 coupon through that so I paid under $30 for this palette with also using ebates. I was super excited about that. I believe that you can also order it from Sephora, Ulta, and Lorac's website.

So to summarize, I love this palette. Even if you have both of the Naked palettes I still think you need this palette. This is really a palette that you could take on a trip and create anything from a soft neutral eye to a dark smokey eye and not have to bring any other shadows This palette is truly a neutral lovers dream. This is my first Lorac purchase and I am so impressed with this palette that I'll be looking to purchase more things from the brand in the future. If you have this palette I would love to hear your thoughts. If you don't have it do you plan on picking it up?

    1. If you end up getting it let me know. I also really like the new limited edition Laura Mercier one. I went pretty palette crazy recently. Eyeshadows are always a weakness for me (along with all other makeup :)
